Do you have a picture of one of my paintings on your wall?

Years ago, I used the tagline - "Art for your bare naked walls." That's how I feel about empty walls. Whether it's a painting, faux, a mural, a tapestry - Bare naked walls are like blank canvas, just begging for attention, wanting to be dressed up.

So it's no surprise, that I noticed a page on the website of one of my most inspiring artist friends. Helen K. Beacham is a wonderful watercolor artist, teacher, and friend. She also has a page on her website where she displays photos of her art on her collectors' walls. You can see it HERE. 

Why didn't I think of that?

Over the years I have had people share their photos of my art on their walls. But instead of posting or collecting those priceless images in one place, I have them in stacks of images on decaying Kodak photographs, floppies, external drives, dvd's, flash drives. It would be like finding a needle in a haystack to pull them all together.

I have never used the software some artists use to post photos of my art in staged designer rooms. I feel like the sizing of the art is never right on those, and they just never look authentic. But I want to make it a #2018NewYearResolution of mine, to create a page on my website where I can showcase my art on your walls. I want to be like Helen when I grow up!

So if you are so inclined, please send images of my art on your walls to [email protected]. I promise I will display them prominently and proudly. 

In case you were wondering, the images in this blog post are pictures of my art on MY walls. I had to start somewhere. :)

If you are lucky like me, and you get to spend this weekend, Nov. 18, 2017 in Nags Head, North Carolina, I hope you will stop by Seaside Art Gallery. I will be there at noon and 3pm, teaching classes.

At noon, students will put the finishing oil paint layers on orchid underpaintings I started for them. We'll study ways to make the center of interest POP in your paintings. 

At 3pm we will finish seashell paintings I have started, and we'll learn ways to use edges to create more realism in your paintings.
