Being an artist means I get to travel to the most interesting and inspiring places! In the last two weeks, I have seen much of the middle of the state of Montana. Before I went there for our WAM Presents WAM art exhibit at The WaterWorks Art Museum, I wasn't even sure anyone lived in Montana. I'd never met anyone from there. 

Well, some of the kindest and most resourceful folks in the country live in Montana, and I am now proud to call a handful of them friends!

This last weekend I was in Atlanta for the Portrait Society of America conference. It is the nation's premier gathering of the best artists in contemporary realism portraiture. I wish there was something comparable for still life artists. (If I say that enough times will somebody start a still life society so I don't have to?)

All weekend, artists just bursting with inspiration can be found sketching in the hotel hallways or painting outdoors. It is amazing to have access to these superstars of the art world. I'm sure they go home feeling like their brains have been picked clean of useful knowledge by all of us wanna be's.

This coming weekend, May 6, 2017 I will be doing a miniature painting demonstration at Seaside Art Gallery for the opening of their annual miniature show. I am bringing a carload of new paintings to the gallery. Come give me a hug if you are in Nags Head, NC that day! The Outer Banks is a great place to be that first week of May, and you can see the beach from the gallery. 

And Mother's Day Weekend, May 12, 13, 14, I have a solo show at Huckleberry Fine Art Gallery on Nebel St. in Rockville, MD. I will be there 7-11pm Friday, 11am to 11pm Saturday, and 11am to 3pm Sunday. I will have lots of new work in the show. I hope you can join me! I will be doing a painting demonstration. I haven't thought about what I will be painting yet. Any requests?
