In the Outer Banks, the Wanchese marina is an active place for fishermen to do commerce. Whenever I visit, I am inspired to paint about their lives at sea.
I imagine that much of their success is about deciding where to drop lines and nets, and for how long. I'm not sure if it's easier to catch scallops at night, but it sure is a pretty time to relax in a marina Tiki lounge and watch it happening.
