Sometimes, a moment like this one that I experienced in Japan, makes you stop and think of the importance of art. I was part of a 5 person show at a museum in Tokyo, and this couple sat down to really experience our art in one of the rooms. As I approached, I was struck with how they weren't looking at it through their phones. They weren't talking about it. They weren't rushing through the exhibit. They were stopping to experience it.
