City Vibes

In a bar, in Times Square, in New York City, relaxing with my husband and people watching, we saw these two. The woman appeared busy and got up a few times. The man was connecting with others on his cell phone. They seemed content and enjoyed their cocktails. It was an ordinary scene, in a restful space.

But don't you just always fall prey to the human inclination to guess at their stories? I do. Maybe they were there on business, and waiting for their other team members to join them. Perhaps they were planning the rest of their trip. Maybe they were buying tickets for a Broadway play? Perhaps they were a couple and their children were contacting them.

That's one of the things I love about the city. You can't beat the opportunities for people watching.
