Hyacinth is Peace Power Pride

Hyacinths are one of the first fragrant indicators that spring has sprung in Northern Virginia. Their April blooms put memories of breezy sunny walks and birdsong into my head. 

Did you know that this delicate flower symbolizes peace, power and pride? Doesn't that feel like an oxymoron? I mean, when I'm prideful I'm not thinking peace. And if I feel powerful, it's usually because my peace has been threatened.  But then, imagine a world where all three coexist.  What if we could be powerful, proud AND peaceful? That's a place I'd love to exist in. It's something to aspire to.
