My dad used to play the trumpet. He played the accordion too. When I was very little, I have vague memories of short performances. But then his instruments aged and fell apart, and he never got new ones. He was an accountant, a lover of cars and his family, and many other interests occupied his time.
Now, I wish I had some photos or recordings of him playing the instruments he practiced growing up in a Polish community in Michigan.
