Let the Cat Out of the Bag, Debra Keirce—I was intrigued by the content of this painting as well as the skill in execution. There is demonstrated skill in the color palette, the composition and the details (look at the white dots on the red spigot handle). In addition to that, the painting has created a mystery. How will this small section of a Rube Goldberg machine will affect the bag with the Maneki-nekoi (Chinese good luck cat)? I’m left wondering about what is beyond the frame.
